Trestle Glen Vineyards wines coming
Long-time Sonoma Valley vintner Bruce Cohn plans to re-enter the wine business with his new label Trestle Glen Vineyards (TGV) wines, from grapes farmed on his 21-acre Glen Ellen estate, Trestle Glen. The first wines will come from the 2017 vintage and include an award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon followed by a Zinfandel next year. The Cabernet will be aged to 24 months in 100 percent French oak. The Zinfandel will be aged 18 months in French and American oak. This first vintage, a Cabernet, will be offered exclusively as a futures offering and released in the fall of 2019.
Approximately 1,500 cases of Cab and 250 cases of Zin will eventually be produced by Cohn and longtime friend and winemaker Tom Montgomery. Montgomery was Cohn's winemaker at B.R. Cohn winery. The two of them created some high scoring wines over the years. The TGV wines will be available direct to consumers. Trestle Glen Vineyards are 21 acres that are contiguous to Olive Hill Vineyards and have the same unique microclimate that Olive Hill Vineyards and B.R. Cohn Winery enjoy. The estate is farmed sustainably.
The vineyard gets its name from the route of the trains that ran through the Valley in a bygone era, bringing tourists and freight. Remnants remain on and near the property.
“I am very excited to be back in the wine business. As I did in the first 42 years in the business, I will focus on only the highest quality wines that can be produced from this estate. With Tom Montgomery directing the winemaking, people can be assured that the results of our combined efforts will be nothing short of world-class wines,” said Cohn.
TGV can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or 938-4144 or visit www.trestleglenvineyards.com for wine club and mailing list information.

Kenwood Inn & Spa looking good following post-fire renovation
Kenwood Inn & Spa has reopened following an extensive renovation. The inn was closed for five months due to damage from the region's wildfires, and reopened in March.
In addition to cleanup, work encompassed refreshing all 29 guestrooms and suites, and updating the lobby, cabanas and other public spaces at the approximately two-and-a-half acre inn.
Some improvements are still in progress. A remodeled spa will be completed later this summer; until then, guests can enjoy treatments in an interim space. The inn's meeting and private event space is being renovated to provide groups and bridal parties with an expansive and elegant lounge.
The lobby has been updated with new millwork, an oak and black marble reception desk, and a custom key cabinet designed to hold Italian-made tassel keys to each guestroom. A new, 12-foot antique Italian walnut trestle table greets guests at breakfast in the inn's Cucina eating area.
The project was conceived and overseen by Michael Mohr, principal of MetWest Ventures, and executed in collaboration with SALT + BONES design studio of Carmel. Kenwood Inn & Spa is managed by Four Sisters Inns.
