Village Chat for Dec. 15, 2018
Kenwood Community Church had a great turnout last Saturday, Dec. 8, for their Gingerbread Decorating Extravaganza. Just goes to show the universal and timeless appeal of candy! Check out the photos on page 16.
Likewise, many kids and their families were at the Kenwood Fire Station that morning waiting to see Santa and Mrs. Claus. Some of the parents had probably done the same thing when they were growing up here, including Whitney Dixon Gusman, who now lives in Denver and brought her daughter Aenea, and Justin Infante and his three kids Charlotte, Emma and Macaulay. Fire Chief Daren Bellach's boys Tyler and Lucas, also said hello to Santa, along with their cousins Emma and Louis, Sean Bellach's little ones. Thanks, Santa, for making time out of your busy schedule for all of us!
On Thursday, Dec. 6, Rainbow Garden Preschool in Kenwood took a field trip to Beltane Ranch in Glen Ellen to top off their month of studying “things with wheels.” Loads of heavy equipment, trucks and tractors were available for the three- and four-year-olds to see, hear and touch, courtesy of teacher Jill Dawson, the Beltane family, and other Sonoma Valley locals. The taco truck, Loncheria Emily, that usually parks on the corner of Highway 12 and Dunbar Road, joined in as well, giving the kids a tour of the kitchen and serving them all quesadillas. Next up, the preschool theme will be “monkeys.” So what will the next field trip be, monkeys at the Maple Ring?
Last month Austin and Brooke Campbell and their kids Paisley and Kroy went on vacation in Hawaii, including a Body Glove snorkeling cruise off Kailua-Kona. It was a fun, family-friendly boat tour of the coastline, and 5-year-old Paisley even went snorkeling. Thanks for remembering to take the Kenwood Press along!
Olga and Dave Komar are delighted to announce the birth of their second child, baby Jesse Leo Komar who was born on Sept. 2 and has just turned three-months old. Big sister Eva is delighted with her brother, as you can see from this photo. Congratulations, everyone!

So look for your next issue of the Kenwood Press on Jan. 15, 2019, and until then, have a wonderful Holiday Season and a Happy New Year! Thanks to everyone throughout the year who sent us their news and pictures. It's easy to do - why not make it a New Year's resolution?
