Family Fun Day features 'nature’s recyclers'
Jack London State Park
Saturday May 20th - 10:00amJack London loved the natural world, so it’s fitting that Jack London State Park is hosting a series of free Family Fun Days through the summer. Geared towards young learners (pre-K through second grade), each event will celebrate a different theme, combining natural science, art, and sustainability. While activities and learning levels support young adventurers, kids of all ages are welcome to join in, exploring forest trails and learning about nature through fun hikes, games and hands-on activities.
On May 20, learn about “nature’s recyclers.” How does nature keep the environment healthy and how can humans help? Over 100 years ago, Jack London knew the importance of using eco-friendly materials to grow his crops and take care of the land. Learn about nature’s own recycling system and how humans can reduce, reuse, and recycle, too. A 45-minute nature walk leaves the meadow at 10 a.m. and ends with fun activity stations using recycled materials to play games and make crafts. Meet in Beauty Ranch Meadow. There is a parking fee of $10.
