Meet gentle giants at Plowing Play Day Jack London State Park

Sunday May 21st - 10:00am

The North Coast Draft Horse and Mule Association comes to Jack London State Park for its annual Plowing Play Day on Sunday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This popular family event showcases historic farming practices that include plowing and mowing demonstrations as well as free wagon rides around the historic ranch buildings. Learn about Clydesdale, Percheron, Shire, and Belgian draft horses, as well as mules. Demonstrations include blacksmithing, horseshoeing, early day gas engines and more. Travel back in time and experience real live horsepower at the Beauty Ranch, home of the famous author Jack London, who also raised English Shire draft horses.

This event is free, except for a parking fee of $10 per vehicle. Food and beverages will be available for purchase or bring your own picnic lunch.

Jack London State Historic Park is located at 2400 London Ranch Road in Glen Ellen.

The North Coast Draft Horse and Mule Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to these gentle giants and preserving the art of driving a team.
