Classes on Julian of Norwich at St. Patrick’s
St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church
Wednesday July 11th - 10:00amFather Harry Allagree will present a series of classes on Julian of Norwich, a 14th century anchoress at St. Julian’s Church in Norwich, England, known for her classic book, The Revelations of Divine Love. Julian lived during a time of famine, plague and poverty, yet her writings are suffused with intense hope, and revelation of divine love. She was a popular and sought-after spiritual counselor in her own time, and remains so today.
The three classes will discuss the spiritual revelations given to Julian of Norwich. Getting a copy of her book is recommended but not required reading. Classes are July 11, 18 and 25, at 10 a.m. in the Common Room at St. Patrick’s Church.
Father Allagree’s presentations are fresh, witty, and uplifting. He has led retreats and workshops for over 50 years and has travelled to the sites of various mystics in North Wales, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and England, including the Shrine of Julian in Norwich. He currently resides in Cotati and is a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Sebastopol.
St. Patrick’s is always accepting non-perishable food for the FISH food pantry, as well as new, white socks for the Open Table Ministry at the Church of the Incarnation in Santa Rosa. At the moment, St. Patrick’s is also collecting clothing, shoes, toys, linens and household items for St. John’s Thrift Store in Lakeport.
