Wildflower walk and hike
Jack London State Park
Saturday April 27th - 10:00amWildflower walk – April 27,
Wildflower hike – April 28,
10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Naturalist John Lynch will lead a short, easy walk to discover the wildflowers along the Wolf House trail on April 27. Then, on April 28, take an intermediate, four-to-eight-mile hike up to where wildflowers are best – on back-country trails. On both outings, you can expect to see California poppies, canyon delphinium, Chinese houses, golden fairy lantern, lupine, popcorn flower, mule’s ears, and birds, reptiles and other plants that make up the ecosystem of the park. Hikes are slow-paced so allow plenty of time, bring cameras, binoculars, poles, plenty of water, snacks and wear sturdy shoes. Be prepared for uneven ground. Meet in the museum parking lot. Tickets are $15 per outing, per person (parking fee extra). Visit jacklondonpark.com/wildflowers.html for more.
