Saturday March 2017 -
Explore the concept of “walking meditation” on Saturday, March 18, during a relaxed 1.5-mile, moderate hike to Jack London’s lake. Extend your mindful experience another three miles, if you choose.
Park docent Jeff Falconer will begin the journey with a brief overview of walking meditation, followed by a short standing meditation to ground and center the group before embarking. Much of this walk is on uneven ground, so wear sturdy shoes. Hike lasts 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to the lake, with the extended walk from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meet in the Ranch parking lot.
Heavy rain cancels. Space limited to 20. Admission is $15 (includes $10 parking fee) and includes a handout on Walking Meditation. Admission can be booked in advance online at jacklondonpark.com/mindful-walk, or at the House of Happy Walls Museum.
Jack London State Park is located at 2400 London Ranch Road in Glen Ellen.
