Newcomers Club to hear about Charmian London

Susan Nuernberg, Ph.D., professor emerita of English at the University of Wisconsin, will be the guest speaker at the March 14 Newcomers Club luncheon at the Quail Inn in Oakmont. Nuernberg, co-author of a soon-to-be-published biography of Charmian London, will talk about the life of Charmian London, wife and mate of famed writer Jack London – as recorded in her diaries, travel logs and correspondence.

The Newcomers meet at 11:30 a.m. Please mail your check for $25 before Tuesday, March 7 to SR Newcomers, P.O. Box 3978, Santa Rosa, CA 95402. Lunch includes a choice of beef lasagna, pork tenderloin, or veggie lasagna (please specify). Guests are welcome, but space is limited so RSVP early and include a phone number.
