Checkerbloom Society hosts chili cook-off

Deerfield Ranch Winery

Saturday July 2017 - 12:00pm to

The nonprofit Kenwood Marsh Checkerbloom Society is hosting a “Chili Cook-Off” on July 1, at Deerfield Ranch Winery, from noon to 4 p.m.

The afternoon’s activities will include chili cooked by renowned Kenwood chefs and visiting chefs from out of the area; an Obi Wine Kenobi wine tasting bar; a Star Wars metal art collection by Laced Up Metal; a Bocce Ball tournament; photography by Rob Chimsky; a jewelry booth by Nancy Chimsky, salsa dance instruction with Glen Thomas; spa treatments by Jaqueline; a Red, White and Blue Wine Sale; live music; digital collage and photographic painting by Carolyn Scot; and a silent auction.

Cost is $25 per adult, $10 for children, and includes chili tasting and all activities. A $50 admission price includes wine tasting tickets.

The event will benefit the restoration of the Kenwood Wetlands, a rare wildlife habitat and home to the Kenwood Marsh Checkerbloom, an endangered plant that grows in only two places in the world: the Deerfield Ranch Winery and a private estate in Knights Valley. Deerfield has given the County of Sonoma a permanent conservation easement to protect this rare wetland forever.

RSVP to Ginger Baker at 833-5215, ext. 308, or email ginger.baker@deerfieldranch.com. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.deerfieldranch.com.
