Creek Day Camp

Sugarloaf State Park

Monday July 2017 - 8:00am to

Traverse the headwaters of the Sonoma Creek Watershed during Sonoma Ecology Center’s (SEC) environmental education camp, July 24-28, at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. Campers, ages 8-12, will spend the week as junior scientists, starting off the day with morning hikes on the park’s trails. As the day warms, campers will stay close to water, exploring the creeks for insects and amphibians, and capping off each day with visits from local naturalists. Activities include investigating the properties of water, collecting and studying aquatic insects, and learning about the wildlife and plants found in the park. Visits from wildlife centers, bird watchers, and astronomers will be included throughout the week. Camp days will also consist of plenty of games, crafts, and storytelling. Camp runs 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Cost is $260 for SEC members, $300 for nonmembers.

Visit www.brownpapertickets.com, search “Sugarloaf,” to sign up.
