Fire Recovery hikes

Friday March 2nd 2018 - 9:30am to

On Friday, March 2, Saturday, March 3, or Sunday, March 4, join Sonoma Ecology Center naturalists to learn how to interpret fire landscapes that burned in the recent wildfires. Friday hike runs 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday hikes run 10 a.m.-12 p.m. The group will also be assessing burned trees and watching for special “fire follower” wildflowers. Discussion questions include: Why did this happen? What does it mean? How do we prepare for it happening again? This will be a 2- to 3-mile hike over mostly flat terrain and a few steep inclines. Wear sturdy footwear and bring trekking poles if you typically use them. Cost is $10 for the hike, parking fees apply. For tickets, visit www.brownpapertickets.com and search “Sugarloaf.”
