Oakmont Progressives: Big money, local elections

Monday April 9th 2018 - 7:00pm to

Most Americans across ideological lines agree that big money adversely impacts politics. On Monday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in the East Rec Center, Santa Rosa City Councilmember Julie Combs will share her insights about how big money from special interests impacts local politics.

Councilmember Combs has led the push for open, transparent government. She has also been a force on environmental justice issues, including leadership in the Southeast Greenway campaign. Creating quality affordable housing that is environmentally sound is a priority for Combs, as is eliminating rent price gouging. Part of the discussion will focus on what we can do as Oakmonters to promote open, transparent elections. The meeting is open to all and there will be a social starting at 6:30 p.m.
