Sugarloaf State Park

Sunday April 22nd 2018 - 9:00am to

Fire is a powerful, rejuvenating force in California plant ecology. Join Botanist Peter Warner at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park for an Earth Day exploration on Sunday, April 22, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. On this leisurely walk, with some elevation, hikers will observe and discuss the various effects of fire and its chemical by-products on the flora (and fauna) across several different habitat types. Wear clothing and sturdy footwear you don’t mind getting dirty, and expect 3 to 4 miles at a slow pace. Bring water and snacks and dress for the sun and weather. Tickets: $10. Parking fees apply. Tickets are available at www.brownpapertickets.com, search “Sugarloaf.”
