Special Calabazas hike with Bill & Dave

Calabazas Creek Open Space Preserve

Saturday June 9th 2018 - 9:45am to

Join Bill & Dave Hikes and the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council on Saturday, June 9, for a hike in the not-yet-open-to-the-public Calabazas Creek Open Space Preserve, on an 8-mile hike with a 1,200 feet of elevation gain. This is a unique chance to hike through the open space preserve, which stretches from the Sonoma Valley floor to the ridgeline of southern Mayacamas Mountains along the Napa-Sonoma county line. Expect to experience incredible views and hike through pristine riparian habitat and beautiful oak woodland. Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District purchased this 1,285 acre property in 2004 with plans for eventual public access and recreation, including access to the Bay Area Ridge Trail.

Space is limited and reservations are required. RSVP at www.eventbrite.com/e/ridge-trail-bill-dave-hikes-sonomas-calabazas-creek-open-space-2018-tickets-45698346986.

Meet at 9:45 a.m. at the Nuns Canyon Road quarry parking lot for a prompt 10 a.m. departure. Wear weather-appropriate clothing for rain or shine, and bring a lunch with lots to drink.

Bill & Dave Hikes are sponsored by Sonoma County Regional Parks, California State Parks, Jack London Park Partners, Team Sugarloaf, the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council, and Valley of the Moon Natural History Association. For more information, contact Bill at 833-6288, or Dave at 539-8847, or go to www.billanddavehikes.com.
