Hands-only CPR class at Sonoma Valley Fire

Saturday June 23rd 2018 - 10:00am to

The Sonoma Valley Fire & Rescue Authority will be hosting a free “hands-only” CPR class on Saturday, June 23, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Sonoma Valley Fire Headquarters Station, 630 Second Street West in Sonoma. The class takes 10 to 20 minutes and is open to anyone. The class is an awareness-level course and doesn’t involve any certifications or prerequisites.

Since the implementation of hands-only CPR and other modifications to how CPR is performed there has been a dramatic increase in out-of-hospital survival from cardiac arrest. Because hands-only CPR doesn’t require you to place your mouth on the victim’s mouth to breath for them, more people are willing to perform the procedure on someone they don’t know. Hands-only CPR is easy to learn, easy to perform, and has proven to make a dramatic increase in the survival of victims of sudden cardiac arrest.

Everyone, young and old, is encouraged to take this quick and informative class. In 10 to 20 minutes, you can learn a skill that may save someone’s life.
