Solar viewing and star party at observatory


Sugarloaf State Park

On Saturday, March 2, there will be solar viewing at the observatory, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with solar telescopes set up so that you can safely look at and listen to the sun. Admission is free. There is an $8 Sugarloaf parking fee. Also on March 2, there will be a Star Party from 8 p.m. to midnight. The observatory’s three main telescopes plus many others will be open for viewing. Ongoing presentations on astronomical topics will be given in the classroom. Docents will be on hand to answer your questions.

Admission to the Star Party is $5 per adult, those under 18 are free. For more information on any of these programs, go to www.rfo.org.
