Looking for calypso orchids

Trione-Annadel State Park

Saturday March 30th 2019 - 10:00am to

The calypso orchid is a delightful, tiny, native orchid that grows in Trione-Annadel State Park. They are often difficult to spot, but Paula Phillips Marks is an expert at finding them and pointing them out. Explore the wonderful world of orchids and other spring treasures in Trione-Annadel State Park with Marks on Saturday, March 30. The moderately slow and easy hike will begin at 10 a.m. at the Richardson Trail parking lot. This route will include approximately 250 feet in elevation gain over about three miles of varied terrain, and end back at the parking lot. Appropriate for ages 15 and up. Wear hiking shoes, layers appropriate for weather, and bring water and lunch. Trekking poles recommended. Heavy rain and wind cancels.

No advance reservations needed. Dogs not allowed. Free with the day use fee. Visit www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=480, click “Park Events.”
