SVCAC to review B.R. Cohn event request
The Sonoma Valley Citizens Advisory Commission (SVCAC) meets next on Wednesday, Jan. 23, and will review a permit request for an expanded musical event from B.R. Cohn Winery in Glen Ellen, as well as a use permit request for a farm animal sanctuary on Napa Road in Sonoma.
The SVCAC meeting starts at 6:30 p.m., and takes place at the Sonoma City Council Chambers, 177 First Street West in Sonoma.
The SVCAC reviews development proposals in Sonoma Valley and makes recommendations to the appropriate governmental planning body.
B.R. Cohn is seeking a one-time permit for a four-day music festival on Sept. 14-15, and Sept. 21-22, which will feature live music, food, and wine and beer.
The winery has had a history of putting on large music events at the winery, but normally over just one weekend.
According to the proposal, the events will benefit the Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation and its fire restoration efforts.
Also on the SVCAC’s agenda is a use permit request by Charlie’s Acres for a 3,280-square-foot educational center for a farm animal sanctuary on a 32-acre parcel, open daily with quarterly special events. The property is located at at 3201, 3204 and 3281 Napa Road in Sonoma.
Any questions about the agenda or the SVCAC in general can be directed to Pat Gilardi in Supervisor Susan Gorin’s office, email@example.com.
