Pictures with the Press 2013

First Place: This picture by Jewel Santoro is a perfect example of “Being in the right place at the right time.” We like everything about it – the color, the composition, and, of course, the Kenwood Press!

Second Place: From the sublime to the ridiculous...Gemma and Siena Guerrazzi captured this photo of the KP hanging out on a wall of chewing gum in Seattle. Gross, but somehow fascinating.

Third Place: And back to the Transcendent...Transcendence Theatre Company, that is. The Kenwood Press obviously gives these talented Broadway performers a lot to think about!

Honorable Mentions:

Bobette Watson with the “Grandfather statue” in front of the Chamber of Commerce building in Pacific Grove. Bobette was there celebrating her 93rd birthday!

Sallie and Chuck Wood at the working windmills in Kinderdijk near Amsterdam.

This is one well-read iguana that Bill Ostrander found at Manuel Antonio Park on the Pacific Coast in Costa Rica.

Jack Strange reads his favorite newspaper in Angkor Wat, Cambodia.

Alexander Kirley finds something interesting to do at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Maxwell (left) and Jerry Cook of Kenwood took in the California ScienCenter in Los Angeles, along with taking in the KP.

While on duty in San Diego, Navy rescue swimmer Austin Campbell catches up on the news from home.

Lee Anne Birka and Walt Panus outside the Mystic Pizza shop in Mystic, Connecticut.

Henry and Frances O’Donnell at the entrance to Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica, which they reached after a two-mile hike along the beach. We’re glad that their trusty KP survived the adventure!

Avid reader Roger Morcomb trekking at the Elephant Village near Luang Phabang, Laos with new friend, Yu Hua from Guangzhou, China.

The Kallman family wasted no time in catching up on the local news when they moved back to Sonoma County from Michigan. Pictured on their front steps in Skyhawk, from left: Sam, Robin, Kjell and Nora, along with Wendell, their Golden Retriever.

Toni Knorr and Masai guide “Martin” Kasaine Kimorgo at Rekero Camp in the Masai Mara, Kenya. Shown here in camp along with a Cape Buffalo skull.

Someone needs to warn this dog about the dangers of distracted driving! Shylo, a 10-year-old male Shepard mix, loves to dress up and go out for a drive. But don’t worry, his owner, Sue Ziff, has the car keys.

Despite the urging of son Griffin Hill, Bruce Goldstein would rather catch up on the news than continue hiking to the glaciers above refugio Vittoria Sella in Italy.

Eric and Janet Hansen tipped us off to a hot story – dinnertime in Adobe Canyon.

Look for more Honorable Mentions in the next issue of the Kenwood Press!
