Politics on Tap



Gina Cuclis filed her intent to run for First District Supervisor on July 2 and can begin to raise campaign funds. Springs resident Cuclis came in third behind incumbent Susan Gorin and Santa Rosa Mayor John Sawyer in the 2012 primary that featured seven candidates for the job. So far, only Cuclis and Gorin are running.

The Sacramento merry-go-round got a big spin as Fourth District Assemblyman Bill Dodd, on the job for seven months after being elected in 2014, declared his intent to run for the Third Senate District in 2016 to replace termed-out Democrat Lois Wolk. Rather than run to replace his mother, Sen. Wolk’s son Dan announced his candidacy for Dodd’s place at the Assembly table on June 16.

Dodd served on the Napa County Board of Supervisors from 2001 to 2014.

The election primaries will be in March of 2016.
