Starlight Dinner and Auction for Mayacamas VFD

There’s still time to book your seat at the 23rd Annual Starlight Dinner and Auction fundraiser for the Mayacamas Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD). This year’s gala, on Aug. 19, will be held in the heritage oak grove on the historic Gordenker Ranch in Glen Ellen.

With casual dress, live music and great food, this quintessential summer event is uniquely ‘Mayacamas.’ Tables will be filled with items donated by residents and local businesses, all with the aim of raising crucial funding for the small, vital band of firefighters who are the mountain’s first line of defense in an increasingly dangerous fire environment.

Founded in 1980, the MVFD is the first responder for all fire and medical emergencies in California Fire District 7 that extends from the Napa county line, to Sonoma and Glen Ellen in the west, Schellville to the south and Kenwood to the north.

There are both silent and live auctions, with the live auction offering an opportunity to bid on exclusive local outdoor activities, art, and events, such as a sailing trip for four on San Francisco Bay; a nighttime hike for four people with the Audubon Canyon Ranch Mountain Lion Project; dinner and a movie for four at the Elarra outdoor theatre; winemaker dinner for four with Ledson Winery’s Steve Ledson; dinner and library wines with Random Ride’s Bull Hawley; two VIP Festival passes to High Sierra Music Festival 2018, and much more.

This year’s theme is Western, with participants asked to dress Western style, and listen and dance to the music of Hobo Paradise. Food will be provided by Olive & Vine.

Tickets are $75 per person, or $650 for a table for 10. All proceeds support the MVFD.
