Jeanne Marcinik died on Aug. 12, 2017, in Santa Rosa at the age of 84. Raised in Sonoma by her grandparents, Irene and Frank Brennan, Jeanne attended both Sonoma Valley High and Ursuline, graduating from the latter in 1951. After graduation, Jeanne moved to San Francisco with girlfriends and worked at the local phone company where she met her future husband, Harold. They married in 1954 and raised their family in Redwood City.
Following Harold’s passing, Jeanne remarried in 1988 to Gerald Marcinik. After many years in Redwood City, Jeanne and Jerry moved to Oakmont in 2012. Both celebrated the move and Jeanne reveled in the active social calendar the Oakmont community provided. She enjoyed her Red-Hat ladies, volunteering at church, playing bocce, water aerobics, outings with friends and a good glass of wine at the end of the day. Never one to shy away from a social opportunity, friends and family will remember Jeanne as the life of the party.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Jerry Marcinik, and her three children, Pamela Novi (George), Michael Novi (Sherry), and Theresa Thomas (Layne). Her grandchildren, Michelle, Caitlin, Thomas and Natalie, will miss their “Nonie” and her silly sense of humor. Jeanne was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold, and her father, Howard Brennan.
A funeral mass was held on Aug. 19 at Star of the Valley Catholic Church in Oakmont.
