The article “Changes have come to Sierra Garden off Pythian Road” in the Sept. 15 issue of the Kenwood Press incorrectly stated that the Sonoma County Probation Department made the decision to close the Sierra Girl’s Center residential home.

Chief Probation officer David M. Koch stated, “In fact, the Sierra Girl’s Center was a residential group home for adolescent females, operated independently by Paradise Oaks Youth Services formerly DBA Crossroads Treatment Centers. While the Sonoma County Probation Department supported the garden program (and continues to do so) and the residential program generally, this residential facility was not operated by the Probation Department. Nor did it make the decision to close this program; that decision was made entirely by the Paradise Oaks Youth Services board. Sonoma County Probation continues to appreciate the dedication and commitment of the many volunteers from the Oakmont, Glen Ellen and Kenwood communities.”
