Signs of life return to blackened hills

Apple farmer Paul Kolling snapped this photo of an apple tree in bloom on Nov. 21, just six weeks after the Nuns Fire burned his property on Schultz Road.

New green grass is visible at Sonoma Valley Regional Park, which was also burned badly during the firestorm.
