Quarryhill class on medicinal plants


Quarryhill Botanical Garden

On Sunday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon, Peg Schafer and Sean Fannin will lead a medicinal plant walk at Quarryhill Botanical Garden. They will discuss topics such as the cultivation of organic herbs, herb quality, and how Asian traditional herbal medicines can enhance your health.

Schafer is the author of The Chinese Medicinal Herb Farm: A Cultivator's Guide to Small-Scale Organic Herb Production and a nationally recognized authority on the growing of Chinese herbs. She oversees a number of projects that are focused on growing the highest quality and most medicinally efficacious Asian herbs possible. She is the owner/operator of the Chinese Medicinal Herb Farm, a certified organically grown Chinese, Ayurvedic and other Asian medicinal field-grown provider of herbs and seeds in the North Bay.
