Dakaboom returns to Kenwood

Kenwood Depot

Saturday December 28th 2013 - 8:00pm to

For two nights only, on Dec. 27 and 28, Dakaboom returns to Kenwood for its 5th annual holiday show, featuring brand new material from the comedic duo.

Known locally for bringing joy to the North Bay for over a decade, these two Maria Carrillo High School alums – Kenwood-local Ben McLain and Cleveland transplant Paul Peglar – have been sharing music and comedy together for half their lives.

The annual show fills up the historic Depot every year with warmth and music as a growing community brings their friends and family to experience this holiday tradition. This year Dakaboom celebrates the completion of their first official U.S. tour; emceeing the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival; headlining A Cappella Fest in Chicago; guest entertaining aboard Princess Cruises in Alaska; a Valentine’s show at New York City’s famed club Don’t Tell Mama; and performing at 85 colleges across the country.

Ben (with his band ARORA) released the album Bioluminescence this past summer to critical acclaim. During his third year as Music Director of TASIS (The American School In Switzerland) Paul composed the music for a musical adaptation of The Little Prince, which will have its U.S. debut May 2014 in New York City.

The shows start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 and available in advance by emailing sarahphillips2000@gmail.com, or calling 537-6685. You can also pick up tickets at the Kenwood Press office. Tickets will also be available at the door, if they don’t sell out first. CDs and DVDs will be available for purchase and drinks and refreshments will be available for a donation. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Kenwood Depot.
