At its Sept. 23 meeting, Sons in Retirement (SIR) #53 members will hear from a Red Cross volunteer who worked for three months at Ground Zero immediately after the 9/11 attacks.J. Patch Guglielmino will recall that horrific morning 14 years ago when she saw the suicide attacks on TV and subsequently flew to New York. One of Sonoma County's most traveled and experienced Red Cross volunteers, she will describe her experiences working at Ground Zero as a family service technician, and give a very personal look into the life and struggles of one who was deeply involved in a significant chapter of American history and made a difference in the lives of those she touched.SIR Branch #53 meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at Oakmont's East Recreation Center, 7902 Oakmont Dr. A social starts at 11 a.m. with lunch at noon catered by J's Grill & Cafť.
