Full moon hike to Bald Mountain


Sugarloaf State Park

Friday June 2017 - 6:15pm to

Bring a flashlight and your sense of wonder as you explore Sugarloaf Ridge State Park after dark on June 9. This strenuous hike will begin at the White Barn and head up to Bald mountain to see the moon rise over the Mayacamas and the sun set over Sonoma Valley. Meet at the White Barn at 6:15 p.m., with a prompt departure at 6:30 p.m. Moonrise and sunset are at about 8:30 p.m. The hike will cover 6.5 miles with over 1,500 feet of elevation gain, with some steep sections. Dress in layers, as it can be cool at the summit.

Cost is $10, plus parking. Under 18 are free.
