Hike the Sugarloaf by day or night
Saturday August 2017 -
Sugarloaf docents will lead a 1.4-mile nature hike along the Sonoma Creek on Saturday, Aug. 5, 10-11:30 a.m. On the hike, learn about the plants, animals and aquatic life of Sonoma Creek. The hike starts at the Visitors Center. No fee, but parking charges apply.
If you can’t make the morning hike, consider joining the “Almost Full Moon Hike,” also Aug. 5, 6-8:45 p.m. Bring a flashlight and your sense of wonder as you explore the park after dark. This moderate to strenuous level hike route will head up the Vista Trail where you will see the moon rise over the Mayacamas and the sun set over Sonoma Valley from Indian Rock. The hike covers a little over four miles and has 600 feet of elevation gain. Visit www.sugarloafpark.org for more information.
