Sugar-Hood Shuttle runs again

Sugarloaf State Park

Sunday September 2017 - 8:00am to

Sept. 9 and 10, 8-11 a.m.

Want to do a thru-hike from Sugarloaf State Park to the Los Alamos Road entrance of Hood Mountain Regional Park or vice versa? Catch a ride on the Sugar Shuttle. Every hour the shuttle leaves from either Sugarloaf Park or Hood Mountain Regional Park (Los Alamos Road parking lot). Make a reservation and then ride to the other end of the trail, or hike and ride back. (Riding first and hiking back to your car is the easiest way since there are no worries about about how long it may take to finish your hike.) This 7.5-mile one-way hike with 2,200 feet of vertical climbing should take four to five hours.

No charge for the ride, but suggested donations of $10 are accepted on the shuttle. Dogs are not allowed on the shuttle or in the state park.

Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is located at 2605 Adobe Canyon Rd., Kenwood. Visit for more information. For all events, visit and search “Sugarloaf” for tickets. There is an $8 parking fee when you enter the park.
