Oakmont Art Association Art Show

Oakmont Berger Center

Friday October 2017 - 11:00am to

On Oct. 13 and 14, the Oakmont Art Association hosts its 45th annual art show, featuring more than 200 artworks, showcasing the work of talented senior artists and craftspeople. Through a silent auction and raffles, the show supports the association’s scholarship fund for Santa Rosa Junior College artists. This year, the show will be dedicated to the memory of Bonnie Crosse, longtime Art Association board member, who passed away in March. The silent auction will be composed of Crosse’s watercolors.

The show takes place in Oakmont’s Berger Center, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be a raffle drawing with a wine and cheese reception on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. Many local businesses and wineries support the event with donations.

The annual scholarship fund was established 11 years ago, with $1,000 scholarships awarded to two to three promising young artists attending Santa Rosa Junior College, who are transferring to four-year colleges. This year’s scholarship award winners are Cassandra Dias and Sydney Manning. They will show their work and be introduced at the Saturday reception.

The Oakmont Art Association is dedicated to the visual arts and crafts, including painting in all media, sculpture, photography and crafts. Members include artists, both professional and hobbyist, and people with an interest in the arts. Find out more at oakmontart.com.
