Local Rotary sponsors play to benefit fire relief projects
Thursday December 2017 -
As part of its ongoing fire relief efforts, the Rotary Club of Glen Ellen-Kenwood is sponsoring a performance at the 6th Street Playhouse in Santa Rosa on Thursday, Dec. 7.
The play is Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Ride, a humorous twist on a classic Dickens tale, with Mrs. Cratchit taking center stage.
Proceeds from the event will go toward the club’s fire relief program. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show starting at 8 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
Tickets are $35 and can be bought at the Kenwood Press office or by calling Dave Chappell at a 328-1715.
The Rotary Club of Glen Ellen-Kenwood meets on the first and third Wednesday evenings of the month, 5:30-7 p.m., at the historic Kenwood Depot, 314 Warms Springs Road in Kenwood. The next meetings are Dec. 6 and Dec. 20. Visitors are welcome.
The club is involved in a number of fire relief programs, having raised close to $45,000 so far for projects, including helping to restore and rebuild Dunbar School’s Kindergarten playground, the Haver outdoor stage, and the garden area. Supermarket gift cards for income-eligible students will also be provided for the holidays.
