Photography in the winter landscape

Jack London State Park

Saturday February 10th 2018 - 8:00am to

The winter landscape offers myriad inspiring subjects in the mystery and moodiness of a foggy or misty day – the allure of a long exposure to create beautiful blurs of running water in a creek or waterfall, a landscape complimented by moving storm clouds, steam rising on a frosty morning as your subject starts to thaw. Learn how to create storytelling shots with the use of composition, color and contrast.

For years, professional photographer Ron Berchin has traveled around the world on assignment for a variety of publications. He will be teaching this photography class on Feb. 10, 8-11:30 a.m., at Jack London State Historic Park. Berchin will be joined by Bob Long, park volunteer, who has created inspiring images for years as a film and digital photographer, and Deborah Large, photographer for Jack London Park and a longtime nature photographer.

Heavy rain cancels this class, which will be rescheduled.

Bring your DSLR, point and shoot, or iPhone camera, camera manual and a tripod (if you have one). Fee is $35, which includes parking. Space is limited so advance registration is required at jacklondonpark.com/photo-winter-landscape.html.

For more information, contact Deborah Large at large@sonic.net, or go to jacklondonpark.com.
