Meditation retreat begins

Sonoma Mountain Zen Center

Sunday February 11th 2018 - 7:30pm to

Sesshin, meaning literally “to touch the mind,” is a period of time set aside for an intensive meditation to let go of the conditioned self in order to resume one's original nature.

The Sonoma Mountain Zen Center will host a seven-day practice period of silent meditation for experienced sitters, Feb. 11-18. The retreat begins at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11 and ends Sunday, Feb. 18 at 5 p.m. It includes a rigorous schedule that begins at 5 a.m. and includes 10 periods of meditation, chanting, mindful work, Dharma talks, and private interviews. Days end at 9 p.m.

Special arrangements can be made for those unable to come to the entire retreat due to work commitments. Cost is $45-65 per day. Find out more at smzc.org. SMZC is located at 6367 Sonoma Mountain Road.
