Hike to the Ancient Redwood

Jack London State Park

Saturday September 8th 2018 - 10:00am to

Experience the magnificent Ancient Redwood at Jack London State Historic Park on Saturday, Sept. 8. Estimated to be 2,000 years old, learn more about this revered giant on a five-mile moderate hike through mixed evergreens and redwoods.

The moderately paced hike is tailored for all hikers, with opportunities to return at any time. Bring the family for a memorable outing.

Save the Redwoods League is offering free entry to the park if you present their pass at the kiosk. Register for a free parking pass starting Aug. 25 and learn more about Save the Redwoods League at www.savetheredwoods.org.

Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, bring water and hiking poles (optional).

Meet in the ranch parking lot of Jack London Park, 2400 London Ranch Road. The hike lasts from 10 a.m. to noon. The hike is free, but there is a $10 parking fee (unless you have a park pass).

This hike takes place on uneven, rocky terrain. Contact the office if you have concerns about accessibility at 938-5216.
